Ingredients

collard greens
1
medium jalapeno
remove seeds and chop
1
small onion
5
garlic cloves

veggie broth
1 1/2
tsp
smoked salt
or liquid smoke
1
dash baking soda
1
tsp
red chili flakes
seasoning salt
to taste
black pepper
to taste
Instructions
Line a large pot with veggie broth.
Saute onions, garlic, and jalapeno on medium heat until fragrant and tender.
Add in vegetable broth, red chili flakes, smoked salt, and black pepper. Taste and adjust seasonings as needed.
Add your greens. Stir to make sure all the greens get coated. Add a dash of baking soda to help tenderize the greens.
Reduce heat and bring to a simmer.
Simmer for 1 to 2 hours, depending on how tender you like your greens.
Serve!
Notes
Tip - Use a shorter cooking time, if you like brighter crunchier greens.
Plan Ahead - Chop veggies and remove greens from stem the day before
