Ingredients

  • 1-2 russet potatoes
  • 2 tbsp olive or vegan butter
  • 1 tablespoon lemon pepper seasoning such as McCormick®
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder

Instructions

  • Slice the potatoes into long, 1/2 to 1 inch thick slices (or desired fry shape).
  • Rinse the sliced potatoes in a strainer.
  • Preheat oven to 425°F (you can also use an air-fryer for easier cooking). Prepare a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Spread fries evenly on prepared baking sheet (make sure they are not overlapping - you may need a second baking sheet if they don't all fit). Place in the preheated oven or air-fryer and bake for 35-45 minutes, flipping halfway. If necessary, cook longer until desired crispiness.
  • In a small bowl, mix the garlic powder, onion powder, lemon pepper and olive oil.
  • Once the fries are finished baking, pour lemon pepper mixture over fries and toss to coat evenly.
  • Sprinkle with extra lemon pepper and desired seasonings.
  • Serve with a side of ketchup, vegan ranch, or any of your favorite sauces!

Notes

Tip: Soak the potatoes in cold water for 5 - 10 minutes (or longer). This method removes excess starch and allows for crispier fries.
Tip: You can use half the lemon pepper mixture to coat the fries before baking and toss the fries in the other half of the mixture when finished.
